MEDICAL ASSISTANT
Position Title: Medical Assistant - FQHC
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team at our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Responsibilities:

Patient Care and Support:

Escort patients to exam rooms, prepare them for examinations, and assist healthcare providers during procedures.

Measure vital signs, record medical history, and update patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Perform basic medical procedures, including phlebotomy, administering injections, and collecting laboratory specimens.

Provide patient education on healthcare procedures, medication instructions, and preventive care as directed by provider.

2. Clinic Operations and Support:

Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and maintain efficient clinic operations.

Ensure cleanliness, organization, and stocking of exam rooms and medical supplies.

Assist with medical equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.

Collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate referrals to specialists and community resources.

3. Documentation and Recordkeeping:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all interactions, procedures, and interventions.

Adhere to patient privacy and confidentiality guidelines, ensuring the security of protected health information (PHI).

Assist with coding and billing processes, verifying insurance information, and collecting co-payments.

4. Communication and Teamwork:

Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team, providing clear instructions and compassionate support.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and seamless patient care.

Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).

Solid knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and clinical practices.

Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
